Even
though I am a little old for this, I wanted to write my own letter to the jolly
man in the red suit this year.
Dear
Santa,
I
know you must be very busy and I’m sorry this is late, but I have some very
special gifts I would like you to bring to the boys and girls this year:
1.
Happiness – so that they can be proud of
themselves, and realize how special they are.
I also wish that they can be happy with their family and their friends
and never feel that they are alone.
2.
Empathy – so
that they can feel concern for all living things and reach out in some way to
help others, especially those who are ill, sad, or who are away from home or
their country.
3.
Joy – so that
they can never smile or laugh too much, that they can find the humor in even
the scary and puzzling things, and so they can celebrate all the wondrous and
spellbinding surprises and treasures life offers.
And
while I am at it, I would like to ask if you could wrap some of these gifts for
their parents, whose job is almost as busy as yours:
1.
Unconditional
Love for and celebration of their children’s special qualities.
2.
Time – so they
can enjoy their families and children and build unforgettable memories
together.
3.
Patience – so
they will always listen to their children, even if they are tired or busy
4.
Understanding –
so they will know that anything a child has to say is the most important thing
to them
5.
Awareness – so
they will always know what their children are involved in, who their friends
are, and how they are feeling
6.
Joy – see above
Thank
you, Santa. I am counting on you, as
always, and you have never let me down yet!
Peace,
Joy and Happiness to everyone. Happy
Holidays!
Sincerely,
Katie
