Jim Steffen-Fitness Coach

Jim’s program motivates students to start an exercise and healthy eating lifestyle. Students will witness a unique exercise program that is fun, effective and entertaining.  Jim’s talks are about more than just physical fitness: it’s about being fit in all aspects of life and how healthy living makes one more successful in all areas of life.  He talks bout nutrition and goal setting as important tools to becoming fit.

World of Robots

 Students will be amazed as they learn how robots are used today, and the much larger role they will play in the future.  Student volunteers will help demonstrate a computer-programmable, mobile robot using its electronic voice, multi-sensors, arm, wrist and hand.  Robot pets with video vision, vocal recognition, and balancing sensors will “wow” the audience with their playful antics.  In addition, a robo-one class humaniod robot will show its all too human moves.

Bruce Van Patter- Let’s Get Creative!

Bruce Van Patter is a creative writing motivator, illustrator & author.  His program focuses on the creative process and how it relates to writing.  Through the use of slides, humor, music and audience participation, this assembly will motivate students to jump into writing and drawing for themselves.

Musicopia Program - Minas

Brazilian Adventure!  Journey to the coast of Brazil where Samba music was created by African slaves and later mixed with jazz to create the sounds of the Bossa Nova.  Students learn about the music, culture, language, dance rhythms, history, and the importance of “Carnaval” in this diverse and dynamic South American country.  Students will sing authentic percussion instruments.  Instrumentation: Guitar, piano, percussions, and vocals.

The Walnut Street Theater- “The Boy Who Cried Bully”

Meet Nate, a typical third-grader with a love for telling tall tales. Nate's biggest problem is Sam, a fifth-grade bully who has it in for him and his friends. Thankfully, Bob the Bully-Buster visits to teach Nate's class what they can do to identify and prevent bullying in school. Based on the classic Aesop's fable, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, this honest, hilarious and engaging production looks at stretching truths and accepting differences.

The Millers – Sponsored by WEOF

The Millers, formerly the Clayton Miller Blues Band, are a band made up of 3 brothers and their dad.  They have been playing together since 1999.  Since L.D. and Cole placed 2nd on the NBC Show “America’s Got Talent” in 2006, the Millers have been getting a lot of attention.  They have performed with such musicians as Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone and blues legend B.B. King, as well as appearing on the “Today Show”.

America’s Best Frisbee Dogs

Students will be amazed when they see Bill Camp’s Flying Frisbee Dogs fly through the air catching Frisbees.  For more than 15 years, Bill’s dogs have been thrilling crowds at half-time shows in the NFL, NBA and professional baseball games.

The Rope Master-Peter Nestler

Peter Nestler, world champion rope-jumper, will present a fast-paced program which will include audience participation.  It will include a message of being “teachable”, setting goals and working to get there, leading a drug-free life, and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!
